Certifications:
American Council on Exercise, MovNat Level 1 & Level 2, Mike Boyle Certified Functional Strength Coach
I’m Seamus, co-owner and founder of The Trinity Gym! Originally from the west of Ireland, I moved to New York to pursue a career in finance, working on Wall Street before realizing my real passion was fitness.
After trading the office for the gym, I helped start Trinity-beginning with outdoor workouts in NYC parks, even in the snow.
Today our mission remains simple: build fitness, community, and opportunities to give back.
Emily McGinn
Coach
Certifications:
NASM, GGS Certified Pre- & Postnatal, Barre Code Certified Barre Instructor
Hi, I’m Emily!
I’m a certified personal trainer with additional certifications in barre and pre and postnatal fitness. I coach small group classes and 1:1 personal training, with a focus on strength, mobility, and movement that actually holds up in real life.
I grew up in San Diego and from a young age I was drawn to sports and movement – ballet, water polo, Jr. Lifeguard training in the summers. I wouldn’t say I had natural athletic talent. I was never the fittest or the fastest. But I always showed up, and I never stopped trying.
That carried into almost 16 years of competitive Irish dancing – hardly ever placing well in competitions, but determined enough to make it to the World Championships in 2017. Then an injury sidelined me completely, and I had to start over from scratch.
I found barre while rehabbing my body. I wasn’t trying to become a fitness professional. I just needed to move again. But something shifted, and by 2018 I had earned my barre instructor certification while still working my corporate 9-5 in digital marketing.
In 2021 I discovered strength training and it changed everything. The impact it had on my life, in and outside the gym, was undeniable. So I left my 9-5, earned my CPT, and never looked back.
I tell you all of this because I know what it feels like to start over. To not know what you’re doing. To wonder if it’s too late, or if you’ll get hurt, or if a place like The Trinity is even for someone like you.
It is. And you don’t have to figure any of that out before you walk through the door. My goal is to meet you where you are, go at a pace that works for you, and make sure you leave every session feeling more capable than when you walked in.
Francesco Perna
Coach
Certifications:
NASM PT
Ciao! I’m Francesco, a certified personal trainer from Napoli, Italy. My journey into fitness didn’t start until i was in my 30s.
I was born with a heart condition that prevented me from participating in physical activity for most of my life. For years, exercise wasn’t an option. Everything changed when I underwent heart surgery. After recovering, I discovered fitness for the first time, and it completely transformed my life-physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Experiencing that transformation firsthand inspired me to dedicate my life to helping others. I became a personal trainer because I know how powerful movement and healthy habits can be. Now my mission is to help others experience that same sense of strength, confidence, and well-being.
Michaela McBride
Coach
Certifications:
NASM PT
I’m Michaela, a qualified personal trainer. I started my coaching during back in 2020 during covid, where I coached outdoor classes to my friends to help share the benefits of exercise for not only their physical health but also their mental health.
Growing up exercise was always a priority for me, from playing GAA at a young age to eventually starting strength training and running when i got to my late teens & early 20s.
When I started struggling with my mental health and confidence in the gym I spent years learning to work through that, and quickly realized that this is something I am passionate about and can help other young girls and women in.
After taking time off from coaching I am now back coaching full time in The Trinity gym where I am even more passionate to help women of all ages to feel confident in themselves inside and outside of the gym.
Emily Willson
Coach
Certifications:
ACE GFI, HYROX Head Judge and HYROX Level 1 Performance Coach
I’m Emily! A certified ACE Group Fitness Instructor with experience leading large group classes, small-group personal training, and one-on-one coaching across strength, conditioning, and hybrid training (HYROX).
I’ve been in the fitness industry since July 2021, while also still working full-time in finance and pursuing my MBA which allows me to truly understand how hard it can be to stay consistent with training while juggling a demanding schedule.
My passion is helping people not only get fit, but develop the confidence to do hard things in training and beyond.
That drive comes from my own story. In 2009, my life changed when I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. It taught me early on that performance, success, and everything else mean very little without your physical and mental health. Training became more than exercise it became a way to take control and show up stronger in every area of life.
