This week, I have been thinking a lot about risk and how closely it is tied to living a healthy, fulfilling life.
We are often taught to avoid risk. To play it safe. To stay comfortable. But when you really look at it, some of the best moments in life only exist because we took a chance.
Learning to ride a bike was a risk. Learning to drive was a risk. Asking someone out was a risk. Falling in love was definitely a risk. Getting a mortgage was a risk. Leaving a job to pursue something you care about was a risk. Starting a business was a risk. Even joining a gym in Long Island City can feel like a risk.
And yet, these are the moments that shape us.
